Tradewind Aviation Group is based at Coastal Carolina Regional Airport in New Bern, North Carolina.
Tradewind Aviation International is a flight school with a long tradition. We are providing flight training both under 14 CFR Part 61 and Part 141. Early 2016 we expect approval for accepting VA benefits for the Montgomery Bill and for the Post 9-11 GI Bill. We have six instructors on staff and a fleet of nine aircraft. Together with repute European partner flight schools we are an attractive destination for international pilots who want to build flight time experience, or to obtain their FAA licenses.
Tradewind Aviation Maintenance performs quality aircraft maintenance for the flight school fleet, for private aircraft owners, for commercial and charter operators and for government agencies.

Single and Multiengine Flight Instructor with passion. The efficient, comprehensive and safe instruction becomes fun with Jonathan. He is a real professional and has great peopleskills. Students just love him.The only downside is that his favorite color is yellow.

Ricky Hawkins works for Tradewind as the Director of Maintenance since 2000. Ricky maintains and fixes aircraft, from the airliner to the flight school airplanes, and from the turbine charter to helicopters. His talent and experience helps him to successfully offering clever solutions, and he is responsible for all regulatory paperwork for the customers.
Ricky has earned a reputation that many of his customers have come to rely on. His past 25 years of aircraft maintenance experience helps Tradewind to have maybe the best aviation maintenance shop in Eastern North Carolina.
Is the right hand in our shop. His passion and patience to work on and around aircraft is great. Jeff came to us in October 2011 from Craven Community College where he earned his A&P license. During the time he has been with us, he has gained much experience in aircraft maintenance, including annual and 100 hour inspections, and other routine and emergency repairs and maintenance.
The admin side of our maintenance operation is under Ed’s wings as maintenance coordinator. He takes care to order the right parts and makes sure the bills reach our customers.Ed has plenty of administrative experience in past employments which helps him adapt to the rigors of keeping aircraft maintenance records precise and accurate. Ed graduated from Campbell University with a BA degree that includes a minor in Business Management. He hopes to work on improving Tradewind’s presence in Eastern North Carolina as he helps keep aircraft maintenance on track.
…is the oldest flight instructor in our team, yet not by age but by seniority. Gene has seen the first days of Tradewind in 2000. He works as part time instructor, and he is especially available on weekends. His flying and teaching skills belong to the best.
Professional training with plenty of GA and MIL flying experience and teaching is guaranteed when flying and training with Ray.
These domains are under the tight control of Dick Bernhardt. Customer satisfaction is 99.9%, however, Dick is only working part time during the opening hours of the Testing Center. Bad luck when he is not on duty.
